My First Plane Ride: A Lesson in Faith
Dear friends, today I want to share a story from my past, a story that taught me a valuable lesson about faith. It was the day of my first plane ride.
The Fear of the Unknown
As a young man, I was always wary of the unknown. The thought of soaring thousands of feet above the ground in a metal bird was, to say the least, unsettling. But life has a way of pushing us out of our comfort zones, and so it was that I found myself boarding a plane for the first time.
The Turbulent Journey
The journey was not smooth. We hit turbulence, and my heart pounded in my chest. I gripped the armrests, my knuckles white with fear. But then, I remembered something my grandfather once told me. He said, “Faith is not about knowing what lies ahead, but trusting that whatever it is, you can handle it.”
The Leap of Faith
So, I took a deep breath and decided to trust. Trust the pilot, trust the plane, trust the laws of physics, and most importantly, trust myself. I closed my eyes and imagined myself as a bird, free and unafraid. When I opened them, the fear was gone. I was still in the plane, still in the air, but I was no longer afraid.
The Lesson Learned
That day, I learned that faith is not just about religion or spirituality. It’s about having the courage to face the unknown, to embrace the journey, and to trust that you have the strength to overcome whatever challenges come your way.
So, my dear friends, I urge you to take that leap of faith in your own lives. Whether it’s a physical journey like a plane ride, or a metaphorical one like a new job or relationship, remember that faith is your companion. It will give you the strength to face the unknown, and the courage to keep going, no matter what.
Until next time, remember to have faith in your journey.
Yours in wisdom,
Kev
