First Time Surfing: A Lesson in Tranquility
Dear friends, today I want to share a story from my youth, a tale of adventure, fear, and ultimately, tranquility. It’s about the first time I went surfing.
The Call of the Ocean
As a young man, I was always drawn to the ocean. Its vastness, its mystery, its unyielding power. One summer, I decided to take the plunge and learn to surf. I remember standing on the beach, surfboard under my arm, staring out at the waves. The ocean was a swirling mass of chaos, and I was about to throw myself into it.
Embracing the Chaos
As I paddled out, my heart pounded in my chest. The waves were bigger than they looked from the shore, and they tossed me around like a ragdoll. But I kept going, pushing through the fear. And then, I was out there, sitting on my board, bobbing on the swells. The chaos was all around me, but I was a part of it now. I was in the ocean, but I was not of it.
Finding Tranquility
And then, something amazing happened. I caught my first wave. I stood up, wobbled, and then… I was surfing. I was riding the chaos, harnessing its power. And in that moment, I found tranquility. I was at peace. I was one with the ocean.
The Lesson
Life, like the ocean, is often chaotic. It can toss us around, make us feel small and insignificant. But if we embrace the chaos, if we learn to ride the waves, we can find tranquility. We can find peace. We can find ourselves.
So, my friends, don’t be afraid of the chaos. Embrace it. Ride the waves. Find your tranquility.
Until next time,
Kev
