Many moons ago, I embarked on a road trip with three of my closest friends. We were young, adventurous, and eager to explore the vast landscapes of our beautiful country. We packed our bags, filled up the gas tank, and set off on what we thought would be the journey of a lifetime.

Several days into our trip, we found ourselves in a small town in the heart of the Midwest. We were tired, hungry, and in desperate need of a good night’s sleep. We pulled into a local diner, hoping to fill our bellies and rest our weary heads.

As we entered the diner, we were met with a cold, unwelcoming stare from the owner. He was an older gentleman, gruff and seemingly unimpressed by our youthful exuberance. We were taken aback by his demeanor, but we brushed it off and took a seat at the counter.
