Adherence: A Lesson from a Nightmare

The Nightmare

Many moons ago, when I was a young lad, I had a recurring nightmare. In this dream, I was lost in a labyrinth, a maze with no end in sight. The walls were towering, and the path was winding. I was alone, scared, and unsure of the way forward.

The Guide

One night, in the midst of this nightmare, a guide appeared. He was an old man, much like myself now, with a kind smile and a lantern in his hand. He offered to lead me out of the labyrinth, but with one condition – I had to adhere to his instructions, without question.

The Lesson

Desperate to escape the maze, I agreed. The guide led me through the labyrinth, his lantern casting a warm glow on the path ahead. There were times when the path he chose seemed illogical, even dangerous. But I remembered my promise and stuck to his instructions.

And then, one night, I found myself standing at the entrance of the labyrinth, the nightmare finally over. I had escaped the maze, not by my own efforts, but by adhering to the guidance of the old man.

Adherence in Life
