Daring to Play: A Lesson from the Board Game of Life

Dear friends, today I want to share a story with you, a story that taught me a valuable lesson about daring. It’s a tale that takes us back to a simpler time, a time of board games and family gatherings.

The Game of Risk

Many moons ago, on a chilly winter’s evening, my family and I gathered around our worn-out dining table. The game of choice? Risk, a strategic board game of diplomacy, conflict, and conquest.

As the game progressed, I found myself in a precarious position. I was cornered, with only a few armies left. My younger brother, on the other hand, was in a dominant position, his armies spread across the board.

The Daring Move

It was at this moment that I had to make a choice. I could play it safe, fortify my position, and hope for the best. Or, I could dare to take a risk, launch an attack, and potentially turn the tide of the game.

I chose the latter. I dared to take a risk. I dared to play.

The Outcome

Did I win? No, I didn’t. My daring move was met with an even more daring counter-attack from my brother. But, did I regret my decision? Absolutely not.

The Lesson

That game of Risk taught me a valuable lesson. It taught me that sometimes, you have to dare to take a risk. You have to dare to play.
